Cirque du SAL raises $48,000

Milwaukee, Wis. (5/10/13) – Our April 27 fundraiser, Cirque du SAL, raised more than $48,000, a significant increase over last year’s proceeds. The funds support young adults in our Independent Living Services (ILS), which helps former foster children successfully transition to adulthood. There are not adequate government resources to support this program, so it relies on fundraising efforts such as this. read more…

Clarissia (CJ) Jackson joins board

Milwaukee, Wis. (5/10/2013) — Clarissia (CJ) Jackson recently joined the board of directors of St. Aemilian-Lakeside. She is the senior human resources manager for global technology at GEHealthcare, where she has worked since 1998. read more…

Resource Fair for Youth in Transition April 22

 Milwaukee, Wis. (4/18/13) – St. Aemilian-Lakeside and Integrated Family services are  co-sponsors of a Resource Fair for Youth in Transition, April 22, 2-6 p.m., at the UWM School of Continuing Education,161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 7000. Thirty-five agencies will provide resources on jobs, education, housing and safety, and raffle items will include Brewer’s tickets. read more…

President named to abuse, prevention board

Milwaukee, Wis. (2/27/13) – President and CEO Teri Zywicki has been appointed by the governor to a three-year term on the state’s Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board. The panel promotes research and strategies that help prevent child abuse and neglect. It also is charged with promoting community responsibility and public awareness about protecting children from abuse and neglect. read more…

Timothy Herman joins Board of Directors

Maria Andrade wins DCF Caring for Kids Award

Milwaukee, Wis. (2/25/13) — Maria Andrade, a supervisor in Integrated Family Services’ Intensive In-Home Services area, has won a 2013 Secretary’s Caring for Kids Award from the Department of Children and Families. As part of Social Worker Month, which is March, DCF is honoring the contributions of social workers throughout Wisconsin.

Milwaukee, Wis. (8/29/12) – St. Aemilian-Lakeside has been awarded Praesidium Accreditation by Praesidium, Inc., the leader in abuse risk management. Friends co-chair Bill Harrigan joins board

Milwaukee, Wis. (8/22/12) — William T. (Bill) Harrigan, vice president of commercial lending at First Bank, has been named to the St. Aemilian-Lakeside board of directors. Bill is the co-chair of the SAL Friends Committee and was heavily involved in planning the recent Cirque du SAL fund raiser. He also was a member of the Golf Committee. read more…

Social skills group offered this fall

Milwaukee, Wis. (8/22/2012) –St. Aemilian Lakeside’s School Based Services is offering a social skills group in West Bend, Oct. 1 to Nov. 14, for children ages 4-6 with higher functioning autism spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome or who are struggling with connecting with peers and making friends, understanding emotions and social boundaries, decision-making, and listening and sustaining conversations. read more…
