Foster Care Open House Dec. 1

Milwaukee, Wis. (10/19/11) – St. Aemilian-Lakeside will hold a “Winter Wonderland” open house on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 4-8 p.m., focused on foster care in Milwaukee. The event will be in the Franciscan Center, accessed through Capitol West Academy, on 88th Street, south of Capitol Drive. Refreshments and activities for children will be provided. read more…

Trauma informed care training set for foster parents

Milwaukee, Wis. (9/5/11) – An introductory training on trauma informed care will be offered to Milwaukee County foster parents on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 5-9 p.m., at Capitol West Academy, 3939 N. 88th St., in the Franciscan center, on the lower level of the building. read more…

VP Leinfelder Grove named to state Mental Health Council

 Milwaukee, Wis (9/12/11) — Ann Leinfelder Grove, St. Aemilian-Lakeside’s vice president for Strategy and Innovation, recently was appointed by Gov. Scott Walker to serve for three years on the Wisconsin Council on Mental Health. The council is an advisory committee to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services that includes provider agencies and consumers of mental health services. read more…

St. Aemilian-Lakeside receives prestigious COA accreditation

Milwaukee, Wis. (7/27/11) — St. Aemilian-Lakeside was notified July 27 that it has achieved re-accreditation through the Council on Accreditation. The 161-year-old social services agency has been accredited since 1987 by COA, an independent not-for-profit international accreditor of community-based behavioral health care and human service organizations. read more…

$75,000 in grants received

Milwaukee, Wis. (9/1/2011) — St. Aemilian-Lakeside recently received $75,000 in grants. In May, Northwestern Mutual Foundation donated $25,000 to support housing for former foster youth in our Independent Living Services who need help transitioning to adulthood. read more…
