Project-based Learning
The curriculum at St. Aemilian-Lakeside adheres to the Wisconsin State Standards and Individual Education Plans and includes ample project-based learning activities. Students are actively involved in projects that apply their knowledge and demonstrate this understanding through learning activities. Project-based learning incorporates the use of technology and research, provides hands-on or real-life experiences, enhances students' interest and allows for different learning styles among students. The student's work is diplayed at various programs throughout the school year such as the Fall Harvest, Block Party, Awards Day and Science Fair.

"A River of Colors": Weaving and Fibers
Our Middle School students worked on their weaving and fibers Fine Arts curriculum standards this fall. The students created their own personal lap looms and made selections from a variety of yarn types, sticks, raffia, and even foil pieces. The students worked for approximately 16 weeks on their personal looms/weavings. Their art work was beautiful and remarkable. The weavings were truly a "River of Colors."
