the Overview Friendships Unlimited is a member run program of St.
Aemilian-Lakeside and Waukesha County Department of Health &
Human Services. Members come when they wish and become involved in activities suiting their interests. Members are encouraged to participate at their own pace and to the degree that makes them feel comfortable. Members of Friendships Unlimited must: A Safe Place to Come: Friendships Unlimited offers a drug free, caring atmosphere where members can be themselves and receive support from staff and members in a time of crisis. Educational Groups: People can and do recover from mental illness. Join one of our education groups to learn effective ways to enhance your recovery. About Recovery : Recovery is about finding the road to a satisfying and hopeful life and building a system that enhances adn supports mental health recovery. A Member-Run Program: As a member, you have an opportunity to participate in shaping the rules and guidelines for Friendships Unlimited. This is a program for consumers, run by consumers. Members have the opportunity to offer suggestions and feedback at quarterly house meetings. Peer Support : A Peer Support Specialist is a consumer that is in recovery and has been through extensive training to learn how to better serve you. They are here to listen to you and provide empathy. Peer Specialists also help empower you to find your own solutions and help you to find your next step. They are aware of the services provided in Waukesha County and can help you to get connected with services that may help you. Mostly they have been where you are and can offer insight for you based on their personal experiences. Friendships Unlimited Center Hours: (Closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day)
