Help comes in many forms
Each year, hundreds of dedicated volunteers offer their time and energy to support the children and families we serve. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, tutoring, mentoring and recreational activities. Individuals, couples, families and groups are needed, and scheduling is flexible year round. Volunteers must be at least 18. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please e-mail humanresources@st-al.org.
Young adults need mentoring, other help
Youths transitioning from the foster care system to independence are in particular need of support to become successful young adults. Most needed are job shadowing and volunteer opportunities as well as mentoring. If you can spend a few hours showing a young person what your job is all about or could mentor a youth in developing life and social skills, help with tutoring or just hang out, please contact independent living services supervisor, Jane Ottow at jottow@st-al.org.
Tutoring
We need positive role models to help our youth as they work toward completing their GED’s, create resumes, search for jobs, fill out employment applications and study while in school.
Childcare
We offer childcare for our youth to enable them to participate in Indepandent Living Services programming, and we need volunteers to help. Children we care for are primarily infants to age 5.
Donations organizers
In-kind donations are essentialto our young people’s success in getting on their feet and living on their own. We provide everything from clothes to couches and need help keeping our space clean and tidy.
If you would like to help out in the above three areas, please contact Jessie Lidbury, Volunteer and Donations Coordinator at 414-828-8071 or jlidbury@st-al.org.
